done. scooops. I’m hungry. It’s almost 5pm here. Italians don’t eat dinner until 8ish. duh fuck is this. SON I’m HUNGRY.
Other than my hunger problems things are going pretty smoothly. There’s a McDonald’s
SOMEWHERE and I’m destined to find it. I’m starting to get acclimated with my area but as far as the nicer part of the city goes, I have no idea where I’m going. I’ll figure it out soon enough.
Classes are okay so far. I had Italian 100 and media and gender yesterday. Italian’s whatever but media and gender is going to be super interesting. I’m excited to have nice discussions and hear other peoples points of view. The only one I had today was bodies and burials. I’ve only taken one archaeology course during freshman year and boy was it boring. WHY ARE ARCH TEACHERS OLD AND BORING AS FUCK. I guess it’s cause they feel at home with old bones and dust. It was only the first day so I won’t “hate” the class just yet so we’ll seeeeeeeee.
I’m GOING TO SWITZERLAND THIS WEEKEND!
Well not to the place in the picture…but somewhere in the country. WOO woo wooWooo
I’m in Rome. I’m sleep deprived, food deprived, and hung over. Win, win, win?
Rome is a beautiful old city. I’ve never seen such old beauty, except yo grand mammaa! Oooh burn tsssss. But seriously, these structures are enormous and wonderful. The streets are for the most part made out of stone and stuff, mainly everything but asphalt. It’s incredibly interesting. Ohhhhh….walking is completely different. You can walk in the middle of the street and cars stop for you. No honks. No middle fingers. No bad words. “Walking with conviction” is what we’re supposed to do. I’m getting the hang of it.
Over here around mid to late afternoon most of the shops close. I found this out the hard way when I was lost with Sylvie for five hours while we tried to find something to eat and all the shops and restaurants were closed! We eventually found food thank god. The food here is great but I haven’t eaten anything that has blown my mind away. I’m sure I will when I start going to nicer restaurants.
Something that has been irking me is that the clubs/bars I’ve been going to have been mostly American. American music, American people, and American style of dancing. I left home to experience a different culture!!
It’s been 4 “real” days because move in day doesn’t really count and I’m loving it so far.
